This is an adaption and the first sound version of the classic novel by Charles Dickens. During the 1830’s in London, Oliver was born in an workhouse (a refuge for the poor). Later, at the age of nine, Oliver is send to an orphanage. After being abused, he runs away and falls into the hand of thieves and learns his lesson on the way to London.
